Why You Never Want to Skip Past Dental Insurance Because of Expensive Premiums

Why You Never Want to Skip Past Dental Insurance Because of Expensive PremiumsWe realize that money can be tight in this economy. With insurance benefits on the rise, pay scales remaining the same and inflation taking a toll on everyone, we know that people start looking for ways to cut corners.

While most employers offer insurance, generally speaking, dental insurance is offered on a separate plan. It may be tempting to skip paying the dental premiums in hopes for a bigger paycheck, but doing so could cost you more money in the long run.

Is Dental Insurance Worth It?

Yes. It is. Every little bit helps. Most insurance plans cover a very large part, if not all of the cost of your two cleanings each year. This preventative measure alone is worth the investment of dental insurance. Regularly scheduled cleanings and checkups are an investment in your future.

By seeing you regularly, we are able to catch a variety of problems before they ever start. Screenings for oral cancer, gum disease and bone degeneration are just a few of the things we're looking out for. Not to mention keeping bacteria at bay by getting rid of plaque and tartar build up.

Skipping the dental premiums and opting for a pay out of pocket system will likely deter you from getting regular cleanings. The cost out of pocket for a standard cleaning is substantial. Not to mention the fact that if you're skipping cleanings, down the road, you may be faced with tooth loss, or worse. Paying for services like dental implants and root canals or even dentures can be completely avoided simply by keeping up with your dental insurance and maintaining good oral health.

If you have questions about what your insurance does or does not cover, give us a call. Our billing specialist would be happy to sit with you and look at your plan. We are looking forward to seeing you, and don't forget, skipping premiums really isn't the best way to save money in the long run.
