Reshaping your teeth can be an affordable way to achieve a beautiful smile. We can improve the appearance of your teeth by removing a small amount of tooth enamel to fix minor, aesthetic issues. If you want to smooth out rough edges or reshape pointy teeth, we can help you. Additionally, if you want to improve minor alignment issues or create a more even smile, we can do that in our office as well.
Tools We Use
Enameloplasty is the official name for filing, shaving, contouring, sanding, or reshaping teeth. It is a straightforward procedure to make the smile more uniform and improve facial aesthetics. We use a sanding tool or laser to remove small amounts of enamel from the tooth. Thin strips, which resemble sandpaper, are used to reshape the sides of the tooth. Lastly, we smooth and polish the teeth.
Do Not Try This at Home
It is important to note that reshaping your teeth is not something you can do at home. It might sound like an easy process, but you are putting your teeth at great risk if you try to do this at home. You could file too much enamel off and cause bigger problems. In addition to not having the correct dental files, you do not have access to the special polishing tools we use to smooth rough surfaces. If teeth are not polished properly, these teeth are more susceptible to plaque buildup and decay.
