Porcelain Veneers
Boise, ID

Woman smiling showing her white teeth after getting porcelain veneers from Water's Edge Dental in BoiseThere is no denying that strong teeth are important for a healthy life. This is, of course, one of the reasons why you should always come in and visit us regularly! Regular cleanings and examinations can help keep your smile in great shape, free from decay and cavities. With that said, sometimes you want to alter your smile a little bit. This is especially true even if the teeth in question are healthy, but simply do not look the way you would prefer. If that is the case, you should consider porcelain veneers. At Water’s Edge Dental, we understand the importance of a smile that makes you feel great – that’s why we offer cosmetic dental services designed to help you attain the smile of your dreams.

What are veneers?

Porcelain veneers are kind of like dental crowns in that they are designed to fit your tooth perfectly. They are custom made, in other words, and are created to ensure a natural fit that bonds to your natural tooth. They are essentially porcelain crowns that are fitted over your teeth to give them a more uniform appearance.

You might be wondering if something like this is necessary, and the answer is that it depends upon your goals for your smile. If you are happy with the way your smile looks, then you probably don’t need to invest in something like porcelain veneers. If you are not happy with the way your smile looks, however, then you might want to give them a change.

What can veneers do for me?

With porcelain veneers, the sky is the limit when it comes to how you would like your teeth to look. You can change a wide variety of different aspects of your teeth, including their color, their shape, their length, their width, and even their overall size. With porcelain veneers, in other words, you can whiten your teeth and craft the smile of your dreams regardless of how your teeth currently look.

Best of all, you can do this without negatively impacting your natural teeth at all! Porcelain veneers do not harm your existing teeth in the least. In fact, they can even reinforce your teeth and make them easier to maintain while protecting them at the same time.

What is the process like?

When you make the decision to have porcelain veneers applied to your teeth, you will visit with our dentists so that we can go over your goals. We need to know how you would like your teeth to look, in other words, before we can start to make the veneers themselves. We will make molds of your teeth so that the veneers will fit your teeth perfectly, and then we will send them off to the lab to be custom created for you.

We will prepare your natural teeth for the placement by taking off some enamel, and then you will wait until the veneers arrive from the label, usually a few weeks later. We will carefully bond them to your teeth, and then you are good to go!
