Born in Pocatello, he attended Century High School where he excelled in both the classroom and in athletics. He received a Bachelors' of Science Degree in Biology from the University of Idaho in 2007. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at the University of Pittsburgh in 2011. She is a graduate of the dental school at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.
